Since I've been asked so often I made a tutorial how I make my doll's pants. Of course there are many different ways to sew pants and you might prefer a different way, but this is how it works best for me. My pants close in the back, either with a press button or with an elastic. I like my dolls to be able to sit in pants and I don't like the gaping fly look.
Some examples how they look (I removed the images of the men pants and linked them below)

Various men pants

These patterns are accessible without cost, but for your personal use only. They are still mine, and I would appreciate it if you are as polite online as I am sure you are in real life and don't just grab stuff and go without a word, but follow the very simple rules. Thank you!
  • If you want to use them and are not already following this blog,
    please subscribe

(There are two options to subscribe, either by feed reader subsciption or follow via email.)
  • You are welcome to link this page, but please DO NOT SHARE the patterns to pinterest, facebook or other social media platforms
I'd be happy if you leave a comment which one you'd like to use
And I'd love to see your results!

I've started a group project thread on DenofAngels for those who want to share their results.

Waistbands are not included in the patterns. You might want to test the pattern with your machine and write down the measurements for your waistband, the length depends on wether you want to close them with a button or use an elastic.
Waist measurements:

EIDw: 21cm ~ SIDw: 19.6cm ~ nYIDw: 17.5cm ~ JIDg: 15cm ~ KID: 13.5
EIDm: 25.5cm ~ SIDm: 24cm ~ nYIDm: 23cm ~ JIDb: 17.5cm

The patterns are for pre-washed fabric, seam allowance is included in the pants patterns.
Scaling help: the images are pretty much DIN A4 format. Print out pattern using A4 paper size (Click on the preview enlarges the picture). With most browsers, you can get something like "send to printer" in the right-click context menue. If you don't get that right away, select "copy image location" and paste that into your browser. Select File ->Print. Uncheck all "scale to fit paper" boxes.

This is a tutorial how to sew pants using my patterns.

Easy basic dress patterns for Iplehouse girls (classic body)
These tops and skirt can be combined to a dress. Just add a waistband, or change the shape of the sleeves, neckline or the skirt by adding length. I like to make the tops in good quality jersey and combine them with cotton for the skirt or sleeves. Medium jersey works best for me, not too thin to be see-through and not too thick to crumple at the breast-seams. And it doesn't need to be fringed at the inner seams.
Examples how it looks:
Orange skirt with added length, golden one-piece dress
Two piece set, altered top and longer skirt
The last two pictures show the set unaltered

  19. Greetings! I just subscribed to your site because I discovered your patterns for Iplehouse Dolls! I would love to use your SID, YID, JID, boy and girl, and EID for girl - and is there an EID male pants pattern? I have two to three dolls in all of the above sizes in addition to Elf dolls, Dollstown, Kay Wiggs, and three little Peakswoods dolls - I love to sew for all - AND I just received a male and female Iplehouse FID dolls - they are wonderful but nothing fits them that is not a stretch or else very ill fitting! -But they are beautiful. I am so glad I found you site -
    Thank you,

    1. Hi Patti, don't worry about it, maybe you posted before the system registered your username. As for EID pants: It's been a while, but if I remember correctly I added about 10mm seam allowance to the SID pattern and 5 cm lenghth.

  24. Hi there how do i get the patterns to print to the correct size?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Click on the preview to get the larger image, then use the print command of your browser to print the image (with most browsers it's in the right-click context menue). Print using A4 Paper size, no scaling. There's a 10mm square on the pattern to check if it's correct.
